Frequently Asked Questions
The Signature features SoloCarbon far infrared heaters only. Our patented technology has a highly emissive coating that delivers the highest quality AND quantity of infrared heat for therapeutic results. SoloCarbon panels are the only far infrared heaters clinically shown to raise the core body temperature nearly 3 degrees for the most detoxifying sweat and lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
- Turn off the sauna
- Press the timer up and timer down arrows simultaneously
- A digit will appear on the timer section of the screen to indicate the number of hours before the sauna turns on.
- When the timer counts down to “0,” the sauna will turn on for a 60 minute session and will be set to 65 degrees.
To cancel a reservation, press and hold the power button until the time display turns off. At this point you can turn the sauna on normally.
The Bluetooth connectivity will be on the amplifier located in the unit's roof. There is a light indicator that’s labeled 'Bluetooth', this will show blue when something is connected to it.
To Pair your device with the sauna – Select the Bluetooth icon and search for “Sunlighten”. If you are prompted for a password, input password “0000”. You will now be connected to the Bluetooth Receiver in your new Sunlighten Sauna.
If your sauna has a stereo, it will not have an amplifier to connect with instead, the Bluetooth will pair to the stereo. When successfully paired, the BT mark will be displayed on the LCD.
Bluetooth function – Press the SRC button on the stereo to switch to BT mode. It will play a song from your phone automatically.
With the unit ON, press the Temperature Up and Down keys simultaneously to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
This means your sauna is in Reservation Mode and will turn on when the timer counts down to 0. To switch back to Normal operation, turn the sauna off and press the Timer Up and Down keys simultaneously.
Our saunas are based on the infrared wavelength and not cabin temperature. Set to the desired temperature and allow the sauna to warm up for 45-60 minutes. The sauna heats up at an average of 1 degree per minute.
Follow these steps for proper warm up:
- Make sure your sauna is plugged into a dedicated circuit installed by your electrician.
- Set to the desired temperature and set time to 60 minutes
- When turning sauna on for the first time, ensure each heater is active after a couple of minutes. If they are not, make sure connections are securely paired from their initial wire feed coming from the power box under the bench
- Never fully cover the floor grate and heater with any obstruction that will not allow the heater to dissipate its heat.
You can also use the Reservation feature to turn your sauna on ahead of time.
NOTE: If your sauna is outside in an unheated garage, sunroom, basement, or patio, you may require additional time to warm the sauna up depending upon the temperature of the surrounding surface & room. REMEMBER, you are required to have an authorized Sunlighten cover over your sauna if it is outside or exposed to the weather in order to maintain your warranty.
Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared heats the body directly. Air temperature in the sauna is not as important as the type and quality of the infrared being received. To provide the peak far infrared wavelength of 9.4 microns, the surface temperature of an object must be controlled. The cooler the surface area of the heater, the more far infrared energy will be produced. Sunlighten saunas have a heat sensors at multiple locations to measure surface temperature of the heaters in order to emit the optimal wavelength. Similar to the climate control system for your home, you can set the thermostat to 65° but it probably will not reach that temperature. During a 30 minute session, the air temperature will reach between 48-60.
Most likely, the connection from the lights to your control panel is loose. Access the roof and look for the barrel connection (connected with a metal ring). Disconnect and then reconnect, securing metal rings together.
You can find your sauna serial number in multiple ways.
- Serial number can be found on the tag attached to the door of your unit; if the unit is brand new.
- Serial number can be found on the outside back wall of the unit near where the power cord is coming out.
