Recently we sat down for an exclusive Q&A session with wellness enthusiast, model, and philanthropist Jesinta Franklin. Why did you decide to get a Sunlighten infrared sauna?

Both my husband and I lead very active, busy lives. We were going to a recovery centre 2-3 times a week to use a sauna and wanted to look into the possibility of installing one at home. We had been a fan of the Sunlighten brand for a long time and had felt the results firsthand of using an infrared sauna weekly.  So, we knew having one at home to use whenever we wanted would be incredibly beneficial to our health and wellbeing.

How have you started incorporating your sauna into your daily routine? i.e. before a workout, after a workout, to recover, relax, etc.

I like to use the sauna between the days I work out as recovery sessions or once the kids go down for the night. If I do a session before I go to bed I sleep so well, it’s an amazing way to unwind from the day.

You have been using your Sunlighten infrared sauna for a few months now, have you started noticing an impact on your mental/physical wellbeing due to using your infrared sauna?

I’ve been using infrared saunas for years now and it’s been one of the most consistent wellness habits I’ve stuck to over time. I travel so much for work and I love working out, so I love how great it makes me feel pre and post flight (especially long haul). It has always been so beneficial in my recovery. My husband never missed a session after playing a game of football.

What are five things you do each week to ensure you prioritise your health and feel your best?

  • Maintain good hydration
  • Prioritise rest and relaxation, which includes a sauna session 
  • Workout
  • Take my vitamins 
  • Eat as wholesome and balanced as possible 

Share with us in one paragraph why you love your Sunlighten and what benefits you’ve noticed from your sauna sessions?

Our Sunlighten sauna has become such a staple in our daily wellness routine. I love the different modes to choose from - relaxation and cardio are my two go-to’s. It’s the perfect way to unplug from the world, I can watch a movie in the sauna on the screen, listen to a podcast or put on my favourite meditation and totally zone out, while receiving all the benefits of the infrared.

What is inspiring you at the moment? What are you reading, watching, and listening to?

This is quite topical and maybe cliche, but watching Taylor swift on her world tour is pretty inspiring. I always think about what she must have to do to maintain her health behind the scenes to be able to perform night after night in different countries. I am always inspired by people who are elite and at the top of their game. Her concert is amazing, but what I find the most inspiring is everything she does that nobody would ever see or even know that makes her the best at what she does, she is like an athlete.
