The move from ceramic heaters... Up until the year 2001, ceramic based heaters were used in infrared saunas around the world. In 1999, Sunlighten began marketing wooden infrared sauna cabins using Ceramic Quantum Wave heaters - the largest heaters on the market. Sunlighte (CARBON PANEL VS. CERAMIC HEATER) The small, hot bar heaters were getting too hot to sustain this longer frequency, therefore, users were not receiving the deeper sweat associated with the far-infrared wavelength.
Introducing the World's First Carbon Technology... In 2001, Sunlighten introduced the world’s FIRST carbon heater – Solocarbon®. This break through carbon technology would become the foundation of Sunlighten’s success. It broke the mould by combining high far-infrared emissivity with the largest surface area. This revolution by Sunlighten was originally met with angst from other industry providers. To prove the faith that Sunlighten had in their product, tests and studies were performed by independent testing bodies. A clinical study in 2001 showed a rise in core body temperature while in 2004, independent scientific testing was performed proving Sunlighten’s Solocarbon heaters emitted 95% far-infrared. For further information and test data Since Sunlighten introduced Solocarbon, other carbon heaters (copies) started to flood the market. These were mass produced, untested and still emitted extreme high surface temperatures. High surface temperature = Shorter Wavelengths TODAY, there are many types of carbon heaters available – all based on the success of Solocarbon, but none as effective. Sunlighten offers an industry standard carbon heater for the home user (the Select Series); the tested and proven Solocarbon technology (the Signature Series and the Solo System) and the new WORLD FIRST Smart Infrared sauna - The mPulse Series, using Solocarbon Full Spectrum heating elements. As beneficial as far-infrared heating is, continuing research by Sunlighten showed that if far-infrared were blended with mid-infrared or near-infrared, the results would be beyond what far-infrared alone could accomplish. Sunlighten’s Solocarbon Full Spectrum technology is the only technology in the world that can deliver dial-up of precise wavelengths, needed to target specific health benefits. Sunlighten have proved that they are industry leaders by revolutionising the infrared industry when they introduced Solocarbon® in 2001 and have done so once again with the release of their mPulse Series sauna featuring Solocarbon FULL Spectrum Infrared heater. mPulse Series from Sunlighten... |

n realised in order to produce the far-infrared wavelength, you would need a heater that was large enough to work at much lower temperatures. The general physics law (Wein’s Law of Displacement) states that a large surface area, equals a lower surface temperature which then produces the long far- infrared frequency.
